I would like to express my respect for the great employees of Allegany Service. The attention to every small detail and quality of work holds no comparison to any shop in Cumberland. I have had two SUVs and my car all serviced here. The pricing is extremly reasonable, attention to detail exceeds my normal dealings with auto shops. My first example 2003 Pontiac Sunfire having electrical issues, taken to the dealer 3 times amd could never be corrected. Taken to Allegany Services repaired in less than one day and has had no issues for the last two years. Second my 1998 Jeep Cherokee, less than anyone in a 100 miles for a lift kit and instal work. Last my 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited, price for work was less than half of anyone in town, the attention to detail on the work and the sense of personal interaction given from the emoyees to myself is excellent. Not one employee is ever to busy to stop and show you anything on your car or answer questions. My clear choice for repair work in Allegany County is Allegany Service, Gregory J Mallow, owner Mallow Property Restorations, Cumberland, Md

I took a 95 Blazer here for a tailpipe and a transmission fluid change. I was quoted a price of $200.00. An hour later they called and said it would be $350.00 because the transmission was hard to get to and I needed a Muffler too. I said OK. Then they called to say I may need a tune up. They had taken my sparkplugs out and wanted $300.00 to replace them. I said no way , so the owner got mad and said he needed $50.00 to put them back. I told him that I would get new sparkplugs and to put them in instead of the old ones. It took them 2 weeks to do these three things. When I picked up my Blazer I wanted to test drive it before I paid my bill , but the owner again got mad and said no I had to pay first or he would take it to the junkyard. I noticed a big spot under my Blazer but the owner said it was from another car. So I paid my bill and tried to drive home. I made it about a mile and it would go no farther. There was no transmission fluid in it at all and the engine kept stalling. I went back and told the owner and he laughed and said that I should have paid the $300.00 for the tune up. I had it checked by another mechanic and he said that both the Engine and transmission were ruined I had to sell my Blazer for scrap after this. Also when I took the sparkplugs there his Employee told me that the owner was a ripoff and he would fix it at his house for much less than the owner charges.
